We were all mesmerised by US photographer Steve McCurry’s iconic image ‘Afghan Girl’ for National Geographic, so when we heard that he’d recently shot the 2016 Spring/Summer Valentino collection, we couldn’t wait to see the results. McCurry shot the African inspired collection in a Maasai village between Kenya and Tanzania, and as expected, the results are spectacular.
McCurry is renowned as a prestigious culture photographer, not a fashion photographer and as such he has majestically captured fashion and beauty and its interaction with the African culture.
Simply stunning! X

Whether you’re loving grand gestures or simple elegance, you need to be creating an impact the moment your guests walk through that door. Your hallway is usually the first thing that people see when they enter your home. It’s imperative that whatever your style, make a statement.
Here are some of our favourite hallways!
Interior designer Summer Thornton created this dramatic pink foyer for her fun loving clients. She has managed to successfully retain the period features whilst adding colour, personality and an opulent bohemian style.
Pretty pastels in a Beacon Hill townhouse. This modern wall paper print mixes classic design with contemporary colours. Fresh flowers, a Kalim and the pastel stair runner complete this polished ecclectic look.
We’re particularly loving patterned floor tiles in hallways. Small scale pattern or a bold statement tile, this practical option adds so much personality and pizzazz.
This palatial hallway of Stockholm stylist, Joanna Levén, is amazing. We love how she’s used bold lighting pieces and created clean lines with simple accessories.
Ok, so your hallway isn’t so palatial? Create the illusion of space by raising furniture from the floor and using a white colour palette to add light and keep the area looking fresh and bright. Add black and white photographs and frames for a personal wall gallery.
Let’s go au naturale! Green plants, polished wooden floors, wood accessories and a simple natural rug bring the outside in.
An overglazed gilt mirror draws focus to a foyer display.
Vadim Stein is a Ukrainian photographer. Born in Kiev, Stein studied sculptural restoration and worked for many years in theatre. Stein captures remarkable images of the strength and beauty of the natural body form. Simply stunning.

Sometimes we stumble across a home that we just have to share with you. Take a peek inside the Scandinavian home of Malin Persson, an interior designer and her Italian husband. They have successfully renovated the 1908 building, managing to maintain its original charm. Together they have created a beautiful space for entertaining friends and family, a fusion of their two home countries, blending original antique pieces with new in an eclectic style.
